Step 1

Credential Evaluation Service 

CGFNS – Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools or ERES – Educational Record Evaluation Service & the concerned nursing school will jointly verify the graduation.

Can be submitted by yourself or by an application processing agency of your choice**   Fees will depend on the agency and other services.

Step 2

Background check, verification and registration with state board of nursing for eligibility to write exam

Requirements depend on the nursing board (USA / Canada / Australia) to which the candidate wish to apply.

Can be submitted by yourself or by the application processing agency of your choice**  Fees will depend on the agency and other services. 

Step 3 

Register with Pearson VUE and apply for ATT (Authorisation to Test) after receiving eligibility from the nursing board. 

You should receive an email confirmation acknowledging their NCLEX registration within two days of submitting a registration, correspondence from Pearson VUE is only via email.

Step 4

Register for NCLEX-RN Classes

Register for a course with a reputed education provider – such as AppleRN.  Start preparing for the NCLEX exam. 

Choose your preferred duration for the course. Usually a 3 months course is the most sought after, as it allows for sufficient time to study & revise several times before taking the exam

Step 5

Receive ATT from Pearson VUE and schedule a date for the exam through Pearson VUE approved centers.  

The ATT email will be sent to the email address provided when registering. Check for validity date (the average length of an ATT is 90 days within which you have to take the exam).

Choose a date that allows sufficient time to complete the course with multiple revisions and preparation.

Step 6

Complete the NCLEX review course entirely. Take the exit exam from the AppleRN course to evaluate your preparation status. 

Renew the course if more preparation is needed. 

Complete the AppleRN course and question bank with ample number of revisions & by attending weekly webinars.

Step 7

Successfully take the NCLEX Exam and receive licensure 

Requirements and timeline to receive your RN license number varies per board of nursing.
